How to shop for your skin type...

Esme Hand- Halford

We began this week by launching an important new department at The Norah Store, as we were finally able to share our curated collection of products for Norah Beauty! The collection has products for seasoned skincare specialists as well as first-time beauty buyers, which you can browse here if you haven't had the chance to already... If you're anything like us though, you'll realise that shopping in the world of skincare and beauty products can often be a tricky place to navigate, and that any helpful directions are wholeheartedly welcomed should they better your chances of finding your new favourite product and most (importantly) something that is kind to your skin!

Whilst all of our products have a natural-basis and are guaranteed cruelty-free, there are nuances between individual products that may cause them to perform better on certain skin types and less so on others. Therefore we've put together this mini selection of our products to guide you through shopping for your skin type at The Norah Store! Featuring items from our favourite, tried and tested, cult beauty brands; Sounds Brooklyn, Krakra, Skinfluence and Neighbourhood Botanicals, we hope we can help you to find the product that becomes a firm fixture on your bathroom shelf...

I'm shopping for dry skin...

One of our top tips for combatting dry skin is to find a good facial oil that can be applied daily to awaken the skin and provide a layer of protection against harsher environmental conditions that may be preventing your skin from accessing its natural, healthy glow. Neighbourhood Botanicals recommend their Daily Glow Oil to those attempting to prevent dryness, suggesting that you apply after moisturiser or mix it with SPF or foundation for a holistic hydration.                The Daily Glow Oil by Neighbourhood Botanicals

Sounds Brooklyn are offering an alternative with their Mystic Oil, which contains highlights of Argan oil and Jojoba oil, known for treating conditions associated with dryer skin. The Mystic Oil takes a more universal approach to beauty products as users are encouraged to apply it on their hair and body as well as face to welcome all around moisturization! Take it that step further by pairing the oil with a Gua Sha tool or Face Roller (by Sounds Brooklyn) to further penetrate the goodness into your skin. Click below to find out more about the Mystic Oil...

Another product to check out for Dry Skin is the Savon Amour soap from Krakra Cosmetics, with pink clay and geranium essential oils to preserve and restore the skin back to health! Click here to find out more about Savon Amour...

I'm shopping for sensitive skin...

Krakra Cosmetics, based in France, have committed themselves to finding the perfect cleansing product for sensitive and atopic prone skin. The Savon Douceur (translating to Gentle Soap) ditches odours and essential oils to commit to making a product that is friendly to more sensitive skin types. They recommend using on the skin to negate redness and soothe irritated skin. Click below to find out more about the Savon Douceur...

New to us prior to the launch of Norah Beauty was the Konjac Sponge, a handy tool to pair with daily cleansing treatments that is a kind alternative other exfoliation tools. Made from the entirely natural konjac root, the sponge endeavours to dislodge grime and impurities that may be on the skin whilst fighting blackheads and it can be used daily with accumulative effect! Click below to find out more about the Konjac Sponge by Neighbourhood Botanicals...

I'm shopping for damaged skin...

Although they may be new to you, Skinfluence is Manchester's own most trusty skin care brand, and it's time to get-to-know! This gentle No Trace No Waste Cleanser moisturises and removes makeup and debris meaning it is the perfect product for all kinds of skin types. However, the addition of rosehip and hibiscus extracts makes it the ideal candidate for those looking to rejuvenate their skin by minimising scarring and promoting elasticity. Plus, its lavender scent makes it that extra bit relaxing when applying it to the skin at the end of the day! Click below to find out more about the No Trace No Waste Cleanser...

Another product using rosehip as its key ingredient in the fight to increase elasticity and collagen regeneration is Neighbourhood Botanicals' Dream Dream Dream Nigh Oil. A no-brainer (as it does all of the work for you whilst you get a good nights sleep!), the Dream Dream Dream Oil contains oleic acid that helps to blend nutrients deep into the skin, healing all damage from the day just gone! Click below to find out more about the Dream Dream Dream Night Oil...

Also great for its healing properties is the Mild Mannered Face Lotion, also from Neighbourhood Botanicals, click here to find out more!

I'm shopping for oily skin...

Part of the Krakra Cosmetics cleansing soap range, the Savon Clarté promises to provide 'clarity' to combination to oily skin as well as blackhead prone skin. The inclusion of activated charcoal within the Savon Clarté is what allows for the absorption of excess oil and removal of bacteria and other impurities. The fact that it is great for hair and body is an added bonus to this brilliantly purifying cleansing soap! Click below to find out more about the Savon Clarté...

I'm shopping for dull and tired looking skin...

Offering an oil-to-milk alternative to Skinfluence's make-up removal cleanser is the Face Off from Neighbourhood Botanicals. The marula and avocado oils within this product pledge to wake up the skin, hoping to transform any dullness into a brighter, natural glow. This is also the ultimate skincare product from the Norah Beauty collection to equip against ageing skin! Click below to find out more about the Face Off Oil-To-Milk Cleanser...
